NCapture: A Powerful Web-Browser Extension for Content Capture

Are you tired of manually copying and pasting web content for your research? Look no further than NCapture, a free web-browser extension that revolutionizes the way you capture and import content into NVivo, the leading qualitative data analysis software. With NCapture, you can quickly and easily capture web pages, online PDFs, Facebook posts, Twitter tweets, and even YouTube videos with just a few clicks.

As an avid user of NCapture, I was initially drawn to its ease of use and seamless integration with NVivo. The extension is available for both Windows and Mac, making it accessible to researchers regardless of their operating system. I was pleasantly surprised by the user-friendly interface, which allowed me to effortlessly capture and import various types of content into NVivo.

One of the standout features of NCapture is its ability to capture web pages and online PDFs. This feature proved to be invaluable in my research, as I was able to save and analyze relevant online articles and reports directly in NVivo. Additionally, I found the ability to capture Facebook wall posts and comments, as well as Twitter tweets, to be extremely useful in understanding social media conversations and trends.

However, it's worth noting that YouTube videos and comments cannot be imported as datasets. Instead, NCapture conveniently captures them as PDFs, ensuring that you have a comprehensive record of your research material. While this may require an extra step, it didn't hinder the overall effectiveness of the extension.

Despite the overwhelmingly positive experience I had with NCapture, I do acknowledge that there have been some reported issues by other users. Some users have mentioned that the extension takes longer than expected to capture content, while others have encountered difficulties in capturing tweets or experiencing graphical issues when importing pages into NVivo.

Nevertheless, the majority of users have found NCapture to be a valuable tool for their research endeavors. They have praised its functionality and ease of use, highlighting its ability to streamline the content capture process and enhance the analysis capabilities of NVivo.

During my own experience, I found NCapture to be an essential extension that significantly improved my research workflow. It allowed me to efficiently gather and analyze content from various online sources, ultimately leading to richer insights and more accurate conclusions.

If you're a researcher seeking a reliable and efficient way to capture web content for analysis, I highly recommend giving NCapture a try. It's a game-changer in the field of qualitative data analysis, providing researchers with the tools they need to unlock valuable insights from their data.

Great idea, but doesn't work that great. Graphics and other elements of majority of pages it captures are scrambled, with text, comments, images overlapping it is impossible to read or use on Nvivo. Also I struggled to find any helpful info around this matter.

I like the idea and when it works it's great but unfortunately it only 'captures' about a quarter of the documents I'm trying to save to use in Nvivo. It will start the capture process but most of the time I get a big red x that it wasn't successful. It doesn't give me any reason why or things to try to get it to work. Not impressed.

Not working properly on Mac OS. It pretends to download PDFs but these don't show up for import. I can see the capture file in my downloads, but it's greyed out. Wasted valuable time on this...

I require to capture facebook pages. I captured using NCapture ('post as dataset' option) and am using NVivo at my institute. Reply to comment for a post are not linked with the post id, which they should be. Kindly take the relevant action

Another piece of clunky software from QSR. At least is doesn't seem to crash as much as NVivo. But why not tell us clearly where the pdf files get downloaded - or give us some choice about where to save them. I wish someone would develop a better package than NVivo

Works great. Especially amazing with Facebook's API. Unbelievably convenient if you have access to NVIVO software.
